Number of people newly infected with HIV: In 2010, 14 newly positive cases were registered
Number of AIDS related deaths: In the period 1987-2010, 34 persons died in total
Percentage of people living with HIV reciving antiretroviral therapy: 57 PLHIV are under surveillance by the Infectious Diseases Clinic (IDC) and 33 are receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART)
Infections according to modes of transmission: The main mode of transmission is sexual (88%) - 45% heterosexual and 43% bi-homosexual transmission. Still the data from MSM population has been underreported due to high level of double stigma and discrimination.
Estimated number: Institute for Public Health (IPH) estimated that there were 388 (range 300 to 500) people living with HIV at the end of 2010 using the World Health Organisation (WHO) methodology for HIV estimations and regional trends suggest the potential for an increase in HIV transmission.
